"Burries buries the shot!" will go platinum PHYSICALS: Official Measurements 6'3.75" Barefoot 215.4 lbs. 6'6" Wingspan 8'2.5" Standing Reach 38.5 Inch Vertical STRENGTHS: Games Watched Arizona v. BYU Arizona v. Michigan Arizona v. Purdue Arizona v. Arkansas Arizona v. LIU Arizona v. Utah St. Arizona v. Houston Arizona v. Kansas Strengths - Burries is a jack of all trades when it comes to scoring, being able score effectively from just about anywhere. However, he's at his best around the rim where he shot 65% on 143 attempts. Burries also shot 45% in the midrange, and 40% from three on 4.6 3PA. - Burries ability to be more of a complimentary off ball scorer leads to him taking more high quality shots and forcing less bad ones, which is reflected in his 61.6 TS%. This idea is further reflected in his numbers as a spot up shooter where he made 33% of his spot up threes, 39% of his catch and shoot threes, and 51% on his spot up drives. - His combination of size and length aren't eye popping, but his compact frame really helps him play through contact and finish at the rim despite not being the most explosive athlete. - He's phenomenal in transition offense, where he shot 58% from the field. This is in part to his aforementioned compact frame, which he uses to push people out of the way when he's running the court. He also shot 33% on his transition threes, really being able to capitalize on his fastbreak opportunities. - Burries made 67% of all his two point shots. - Regardless of Burries NBA projection of being a mostly off ball player, he can truly create his own offense if need be. His handle is that of a lead guard, and he was incredibly efficient in the P&R where he shot 45% on 165 possessions, and 42% on all dribble jumpers. - I came away very impressed with Burries composure as a driver. He manipulates tempo well and is incredibly smooth and calculated on his way to the rim. - Burries was constantly making plays on the defensive end, averaging 1.5 SPG and a 2.8 STL%. More impressively he did this while guarding a number of different positions, not shying away from players bigger than him. - His basketball IQ is very much on display on the defensive end, with his reaction time and ability to jump passing lanes being elite. - Just as he's a jack of all trades on offense, he is on defense as well. Burries can guard the perimeter and interior really well on ball and off ball. - His lateral movement is more than enough to stick with guards and small forwards. He does a good job navigating screens as well, which makes his projection as a versatile and switchable defender more realistic. - In the era of positionless basketball, Burries is a seamless fit onto most teams and can be positionally versatile at the next level. - Burries is a solid rebounder given his position, averaging 4.9 RPG and a 14.5 DREB%. More of a complimentary trait, but it's definitely a positive. - Burries handle and composure allow him to have some real playmaking chops. While he'll never run your offense, he can be more of a tertiary option when called upon. WEAKNESSES: Weaknesses - If we are comparing Burries to the other guards in this stacked class his athleticism is lacking, thus limiting his potential draft ceiling. - The inherent caveat to being a jack of all trades is that Burries is a master of none, leaving him with few skills to fallback on if all else fails. - Burries will be 21 his first season in the NBA, I personally don't care but it has to be mentioned.
