Raw, undersized small forward with a solid two-way game. Decent potential if picked up by the right team. EXECUTIVE_SUMMARY: Good small forward with good connective play, strong finishing at the rim and good defensive ability. Might fit the 3 and D mold. STRENGTHS: One thing that stuck out to me was that he seems to be a great fighter on his way to the rim, exerting good control and dribbling into good finesse finishing. Especially in a crowd, a good sign, especially for someone with his length. Good ability at pushing the pace when getting to the rim. A good three-point shooter. Decent play-making, with good court vision leading to some some smart plays. Good at drawing gravity, taking note of this and creating space for shooters. Good shot blocker with impeccable timing as well as positioning, can keep pressure on opponents whilst defending and gives continuous effort. Shown good ability to read and intercept passes from opposing players. Has good physicality for someone with his lanky frame. WEAKNESSES: He doesn't seem to use his length to his advantage often offensively, albeit his play style still works for him, but one wonders if it could be beneficial if he did. Would need to work on a mid-range jumper, as most of his offensive game comes from shots made at the rim and three-point shooting. DRAFT_PROJECTION: A lot of raw potential here, but this is a draft class with good options at the small forward position such as Yessoufou, Swain and Joshua Jefferson, all which Allen pale in comparison to.I can see him being a late 20's 1st round pick or an early 1-10 second round pick. BEST_FITTING_TEAM: He could be a good bench option for Minnesota if Jaden McDaniels were to subbed out, he might not provide the exact offensive punch or length, but his defensive intensity would be a much-needed plus. PROJECTED_ROLE: A rotation slightly undersized small forward, his ability to get to the rim and exert control over his finishes would be a much-needed offensive punch for whatever team drafts him, as well as providing good defense and being a bloodhound on passes, intercepting them.
