that feeling when knee surgery is tomorrow PHYSICALS: Official Measurements 6'9" Barefoot 7'5.3" Wingspan 9'1" Standing Reach 253 lbs. STRENGTHS: Games Watched ASU v. WVU ASU v. KSU ASU v. ISU ASU v. Baylor ASU v. Kansas ASU v. Cincinnati Strengths (All stats included are from his 2025 season at ASU) - Quaintance is fits the mold of a prototypical center, nearing 6'11 with shoes and having a great 7'5" wingspan. - His athletic tools are rare, with his movement in space being especially great. This fluidity in his lower half allows him elite switchability, and his verticality is also very noteworthy. - He had 34 dunks in just 24 games at ASU, being incredibly physical and assertive in the paint. - Quaintance is very nimble and quick for his size and doesn't get caught out of position often on defense. However, his recovery speed is great if he does find himself out of a play. - Quaintance is incredibly impactful as a defender, averaging 2.6 BPG and a 9.8 BLK%. He also had 1.1 SPG and a 2.2 STL%, both of which being pretty high percentiles for a center and a result of his length in gap defense. Obviously these are just numbers, but they do show the consistent impact he's making. - He does a great job of being aggressive in altering/blocking shots while not fouling. - His mobility and fluidity obviously help him closeout on the defensive end, or flip his hips for weakside help. - His combination of length and verticality allow him be a great defender against transition offense where he's able to effectively guard two players at once. - His movement ability should make teams very confident in his perimeter defense, as he displayed the ability to cover ground very quickly in space. - While there's some interesting nuances to his offensive game, Quaintance projects as a rim running play finisher that can be a reliable target in the paint. He shot 74% as a cutter, 53% on putback attempts, and 74% in transition. - He fights hard for rebounds, grabbing 7.9 RPG, but more impressively averaged 2.8 OREB and a 13.7 OREB%. He is exceptionally aggressive in the paint and makes it very hard for anyone else to grab boards. - His volume is pretty limited in the P&R, but he projects pretty well in that area as the roll man. In addition, he has some really nice flashes of ball handling. There's some plays where he genuinely looks unguardable dribbling up the court, especially as a threat in transition. WEAKNESSES: Weaknesses - There are obvious injury concerns with Quaintance. During his tenure at ASU in 2025 he tore his ACL late in the season and did not return until December for Kentucky, where he only played 4 games. By late January he was completely shut down again due to knee swelling, and did not participate in combine drills. For a player with athleticism as possibly his biggest selling point, teams will really need to bank on him making a full recovery and returning to his prior form. - He has just 28 games played in his collegiate career. - During his 24 games played at ASU he was just 17 years old. Paired with his constant injuries, it's hard to know how much he's been able to improve and refine his game from how unpolished it was at ASU. - He was pretty poor overall in the post, making bad decisions with the ball or forcing tough shots with little success. - His aggressiveness on offense can lead to turnovers. - He has a tendency to ball watch on defense as opposed to understanding plays and offensive concepts. - His shooting is a true swing skill, he doesn't quite look like a natural shooter but there's obviously a very limited sample. He only shot 19% on 1.0 3PA per game, which is not good at all. He'll need some SERIOUS refinement in this category before there's even a minor suggestion he can be a stretch big. - Quaintance shot just 48% on his FT's, which is obviously not encouraging for him potentially developing as a shooter. In addition, his aggressive playstyle should draw more than 3 FTA per game, and he'll need to knock more of them down to warrant playing time.
