EXECUTIVE_SUMMARY: EBUKA OKORIE is a player who lacks star upside, yet has the ability to contribute to winning basketball if he can adapt to a new role. OFFENSIVE_EVALUATION: He's an athletic, shifty, undersized guard who can get downhill and get to his spots in the midrange and rise above most guard defenders; however, with the exceptions of drop-offs to the big, when EBUKA OKORIE gets going, he enters this tunnel hill sort of mode. His lack of 3-point shooting is going to make itself apparent when he is unable to simply go by guys at the next level. While he still will be one of the more athletic guys on the court, he still will have to face much more athletic competition than previously faced, and will also face much longer defenders. That being said, he has a good pace that works for him, not to mistake feel for pace; his feel for the game could still improve and must improve, but the pace at which he plays suits him and benefits him. DEFENSIVE_EVALUATION: EBUKA OKORIE is a smart defender, but he lacks the height, length, and motor to be an above-average defender. What I will say to this is that his role within Stanford's system was heavily focused on the offensive end, and therefore, it wouldn't be a stretch to say that he was reserving energy for the offensive end. With his athleticism, speed, and agility, he does have the potential to be a well-above-average perimeter defender. PROJECTION: EBUKA OKORIE has a projection to that of an undersized athletic guard similar to that of a Collin Sexton, both produced in great volume in college and shifted his athleticism to a defensive focus output. EBUKA OKORIE can become a potential role player/starter role in which he has the ability to initiate offense, but truly earns his minutes on the defensive end. In truth, his offense will not translate all too well to the NBA, or at least to the level someone of his size must be to earn minutes because of it.
