A pure scorer from all 3 levels who sprinkles in the occasional assist while also being able to get his hands into the passing lane. The type of guy who has the upside to be a potential all-NBA player multiple times in his career. EXECUTIVE_SUMMARY: There have been lingering questions about Peterson's desire to play basketball, but I tend not to buy into those much. The worry about him staying on the court is reasonable, but when he's on the court, he's one of the best offensive players you'll see. OFFENSIVE_EVALUATION: When it comes to scoring, there are few better in the draft class than Peterson. His ability to score at all 3 levels at ease is something special to watch. He doesn't seem to get sped when looking for his shot, and it feels like everywhere on the court is his hot spot. What makes him stand out from Dybantsa and Boozer is his 3-point ability. Being able to shoot from deep is a must in the NBA as a guard, and Peterson will be just fine. DEFENSIVE_EVALUATION: Peterson has shown flashes of being able to be a solid defender. His hands are always in the passing lane, and when he's switched on, he does a good job of staying in front of his man. He isn't the strongest individual, but because of his height and long arms, he's able to block the occasional shot. He's not an elite defender, but he has all the physical tools to become one if that's what is required of him to take the next step. PROJECTION: There's so much upside with a player like Peterson. He can lead the NBA in scoring because of how easy it is for him to score at every level. If he can stay healthy, he has a Hall of Fame upside and is worth any of the top picks in this year's draft. The scoring ability he has could potentially be generational, but time will tell if it can translate to the NBA.
