what it do booz crew STRENGTHS: Games Watched Duke v. Tennessee Duke v. Clemson Duke v. Virginia Duke v. Wake Forest Duke v. Michigan Strengths - Rare shooting prowess (39% 3PT) for a player of his size, he can be a real stretch big at the next level. - Quick off the dribble for someone his size. - Gets to the line at an elite rate and converts those opportunities at a good clip. (7 FT per game, 79% FT%) - Pretty functional handle for a 250 pound forward. He can attack closeouts, run some inverted pick and roll, and get to his spots for pull ups. - He makes the right decisions with the ball in his hands as a passer, even when he's being pressured by multiple defenders. He can be a hub type big and used often at the top of the key. - Hyper aggressive on the glass, cleans up misses and looks to get the ball out in transition on his defensive rebounds when he can. - Has the agility and lateral movement to defend on the perimeter. I wouldn't trust him against NBA level guards, but he can confidently defend 3-5. - He faced a ridiculous amount of double and triple teams in the paint but still managed to be incredibly efficient at the rim. - The attention he draws in the paint allows him to hit his cutting teammates for easy layups and lobs, it's like he has eyes in the back of his head sometimes. WEAKNESSES: Weaknesses - He has good touch overall, but longer and more physical defenders can make his rim finishing look way worse. - Can telegraph passes by holding the ball above his head for a second before passing it sometimes. - He's moved pretty easily by bigger centers in the paint, one bump to his chest and they've cleared enough space for a solid shot. - Too many lobs get thrown right over his head, even if he has his hands up he doesn't jump to contest them. - He doesn't always create deep post position against defenders, and when his first move is cut off, he'll settle for kicking it out instead of reworking for better position. Even more strange considering he'll struggle even when having a favorable matchup against a guard. (see Duke v. Virginia) - As the year went on teams picked up on his tendency to drive right or even use his right hand when he drives left, leading to more of his right handed layups being blocked. He's noticeably worse with his left hand as well. - Small and quick guards (Malik Thomas) gave him trouble on defense, being able to dribble around him to the cup.
