Boom-or-bust physical freak with major injury concerns EXECUTIVE_SUMMARY: One of the biggest gambles in the draft. Super athletic and has a monster wingspan to make up for his smaller height as a center. Could play the 4 or the 5. Injury concerns are real, as he tore his ACL during his freshman year and missed pretty much the entire sophomore season from persistent swelling in the same knee. Went to college early so will be the same age as the one-and-dones. OFFENSIVE_EVALUATION: Upside is high but still needs a lot of polishing offensively. Really good athlete so could be a monster in transition but needs to develop his handle and show consistent production. Will likely be a very good lob threat as soon as he comes into the league. Needs to work on his touch a little bit as he misses a lot of easy ones, but works hard to get his own rebound and put it back in. Needs to be more consistent finishing. Has upside as a shooter but clearly still a ways away from being a reliable, or even somewhat consistent shooter. No midrange game. Worst case, he's an athletic lob threat but he does have legitimate upside to develop other parts of his offensive bag that most centers don't have. DEFENSIVE_EVALUATION: Would be surprised if he isn't a really solid defender immediately. Athletic, physical, smart; has all the tools to become an elute defender. Despite a small sample size, was able to see him guard bigs at a high level, protect the rim at a high level, and even switch onto guards and look like a lockdown defender. Only way I see him being anything less than an above average defender is if his injuries derail his athleticism significantly.
