you spin me right round baby right round STRENGTHS: Games Watched: UNC v. Kentucky UNC v. Florida State UNC v. Ohio State UNC v. Georgetown UNC v. Michigan State UNC v. Kansas UNC v. Central Arkansas Strengths: - Elite rim presence, and even that is underselling it. His positioning is exceptional and he's a force as a trailer in transition. - Athletic freak. - Unreal offensive rebounder and rebounder overall, always on the tips of his toes and is the first guy to try rebounding his and his teammates misses. He's exceptional at boxing out as well. - His ability to adjust his body and shot motion in air off his spin move in the post is exceptional, especially through contact. - He shows real flashes as a passer, even if there's some rough turnovers on tape. He's such a big threat as a downhill driver that he can draw doubles and take advantage of them, but is also an exceptional connective passer and generates lots of good looks. He keeps his head up in transition and has some nice outlet passes. Better spacing in NBA will allow him more avenues to playmake. - Great IQ as a cutter, recognizes openings on the baseline and exploits them quickly. - Rare ability to jump multiple times in very quick succession. - His recovery speed allows him to make up for his lapses in defense. - Has the ability to split doubles in the paint. - The baseline is his best friend, whether he's backing someone down or pulling middys he's at his best there. - His scoring through contact is phenomenal, especially because his release point is high. He loves using an inside spin to get to his floater or mid range jumper. - His vertical ability allows him to block/contest shots that most centers can't even touch. - Does a great job of drawing fouls, he drives so aggressively its almost impossible for him not to draw some contact. - His combination of size, length, and athleticism allow him to a true 1-5 defender. - Really good at defending without fouling, he keeps his arms up and times his blocks very well. He also shows good low hand usage, routinely getting tap outs and strips on drivers. - Emphatic dunker, he's either taking someone's head off or getting fouled or both. - Dribble moves and footwork when he's getting to the rim in transition are a work of art. - There are so many nice turnaround jumpers on his tape, he's really good at locating the rim on irregular shots. WEAKNESSES: Weaknesses: - Ball handling is rough under pressure, and his backdown attempts don't always create much space. - His spin move can become a bit predictable in the paint, lengthy bigs who stay stuck to him could have an easy time defending it. - He's too jumpy on defense, falling for shot fakes pretty often. His athleticism allows him to recover very quickly though. - Three point shot has potential but is very unlikely to be a big part of his game, at least as a rookie. - Inconsistent touch in the midrange game, will find his sweet spot with more experience. - Can be overly aggressive as a perimeter defender and allow guys to blow by him into the paint. This is also an issue when he's trying to establish position in front of his man to stop them from getting the ball, he's too handsy and can get whistled for it. - Just an ok FT shooter. - Can be overly confident in his passing ability at times, leading to some pretty bad turnovers. - His dribble gets very high when trying to back down bigger defenders, leading to poke outs and turnovers. - While his recovery speed can make up for it, his awareness in off-ball defense is pretty poor.
