EXECUTIVE_SUMMARY: Morez Johnson Jr. represents a premier modern defensive insurance asset. In an NBA landscape where slow-footed big men are systematically attacked and played off the floor in multi-game playoff series, Johnson serves as a highly scalable counter. He is a premier low-usage, high-motor professional who steps out to contain perimeter ball-handlers effortlessly while maintaining elite, efficient conversion rates on interior opportunities created by primary stars. OFFENSIVE_EVALUATION: He is a high motor offensive rebounder that should offer high value day1 due to his athletic tools, length and power build. He has great touch around the rim along with vertical ability so he has a floor as a rim finisher/play extender. He has some touch indicators for potential spacing value dependent how much he works at it. I don't higher upside than that offensively for him. DEFENSIVE_EVALUATION: Versatile Defender, can be backline helper, can provide value as a help defender due to fluidity and IQ. Good on ball defender can guard many wings and provide switch ability, guard up due to length and strong frame should be able to guard 2-5. Not a playmaker but is a good scheme fit for many teams defensively as a 4 and small ball 5 mins. There is some positional/role questions not quite big enough to be full time C and although he is fluid idk if he's enough to be full time 3. PROJECTION: Intriguing prospect with prototypical frame, blend of power, length, athleticism that is worth adding to a team. With some possession value and potential shooting, although I wouldn't necessarily project it to be enough to be a spacer there is more there than most "projectable shooters" like Mara, etc. He has a role but I can see a world where is the offense and shooting don't develop, I don't see much role upside beside low end starter. Perfect world, he develops a capable 3pt shot, becomes a versatile switchable big and positive rebounder with some stocks could be a high impact complimentary player.
