He shot 81% from the line and was essentially shooting free throws on 1 out of every 10 possessions. - He's an good rebounder on the offensive and defensive glass, averaging 1.7 OREB and 5.8 DREB per game. He posted a near 21% DREB rate, meaning 21/100 possessions he was able to secure a defensive rebound. - Swain put immense pressure on the rim this season, shooting 192 total shots in that area, making 67.6% of them. More impressively, 82% of them were unassisted on 10 attempts per game. So not only is he converting these looks, but he's generating them at an elite rate. - Swain's ability to use both his left and right hands as a driver makes him such a crafty finisher. - His explosive lateral movement can be very hard for defenders to keep up with, which is a big part of why he's able to draw so many fouls. More specifically, his left to right crossover had defenders in a bind all season. - While his three point shot is far from a finished product, he shot 37% on 78 attempts from the top of the key which is encouraging at the very least. - His frame allows him to take on contact really well at the rim or when he's posting up. In addition, his footwork is also great and affords him a lot of space in post up situations. - Swain is a good passer for a forward, averaging nearly 4 APG and a 21.3 AST%. - He shows great processing and the ability to manipulate defenders with his eyes as a passer, and this will only get better with NBA spacing and offensive talent around him. - He's exceptional in transition offense, getting downhill and finishing plays consistently. - Swain uses his length really well as a defender, averaging 1.6 SPG and a 2.8% STL%. - While he has lapses on defense the flashes are definitely there. He communicates to his teammates well and can be really solid when set around the rim. WEAKNESSES: - Low volume three-point shooter right now. He has to prove he is comfortable taking enough threes for defenses to actually respect his jumper, as well as make more shots from the corner where he only attempted 13 shots all season. - He has real flashes as a passer and handler, but he can be very turnover prone in traffic, averaging 2.8 TOPG. - His shot motion is a little slow. He needs time and space to get it off and will really need to speed it up in the NBA. - He can get lost navigating screens and dribble handoffs. He’ll lose his man and is constantly in recovery mode on defense. - He's great at getting steals but can gamble for them too often. - Gets caught ball watching when he's off the ball and gives up backdoor cuts too often. - His post up game can get predictable. He likes to use his size and spin into his shot, but longer NBA defenders may be able to sit on it and block or bother those looks if he doesn't further his bag.
