ugonna get blocked hahahahahahah PHYSICALS: Official Measurements 6'11 Barefoot 237 lbs. 7'4.5" Wingspan 9'5.0" Standing Reach 32 Inch Vertical Jump STRENGTHS: Games Watched Virginia v. Wright State (MM) Virginia v. Tennessee (MM) Virginia v. Duke (ACC Championship) Virginia v. Miami (ACC Semifinal) Virginia v. NC State (ACC Quarterfinal) - In just 18.6 MPG, Onyenso managed a ridiculous 2.9 BPG and 17.4 BLK%, along with a 7.1 DBPM, being incredibly impactful in limited court time. - As indicated by his block rate, he has elite shot blocking instincts. His length is great and his hands look to be pretty big as well, and he's especially great when rotating in weakside help. - Onyenso does a great job of contesting vertically and walling up in the paint. - The gravity he has as a shot blocker essentially makes drivers avoid the paint entirely and his length can force errant passes and make teams take late shots as well. - His offense is pretty limited, but he does a great job as a rim running lob threat that can reliably finish dunks and not overcomplicate things. - His hand size and arm length give him a big catch radius on lobs and passes in the pocket. - He flashed the ability to attack closeouts on the perimeter at times. - Onyenso shot a very encouraging 72.7% at the free throw line despite being pretty raw offensively, his shooting touch could open some avenues for him to become a more nuanced scorer in the future. - Onyenso can cover ground pretty quickly in drop coverage and decently well for his size. WEAKNESSES: - He lacks footwork and counters around the basket, being someone who simply catches lobs, dunks, and gets easy putbacks. - He shot 27.8% from three on 1.0 3PA per game, with 100% of them being assisted and him just shooting 36 total threes the entire season. While his FT% is encouraging, it'll take a good amount of time before he's a floor stretcher. - He simply doesn't have a functional handle, asking him to dribble in traffic is essentially asking for a turnover. - Onyenso offers very little as a passer. - While fouls weren't an issue in college, NBA players are better at drawing them so it could be something he struggles with early on. - Onyenso is just an okay rebounder at the moment, with room for improvement. - His defensive impact falters when he's asked to step away from the rim, thus limiting his value when he can't just root himself in the paint. - He isn't the most fluid lateral mover, while he can hang with bigs and forwards he won't be someone who can stick with smaller guards regularly. - Stronger bigs can get into his chest and move him off of his spots, he'll need to learn to take on contact better. - With his game mostly being centered around his rim protection, he'll need to continue to refine his offensive game to warrant more minutes as a rotational center for whoever drafts him.
