Arizona St. Baylor v. Washington Baylor v. BYU Baylor v. Utah Baylor v. Arizona Baylor v. Creighton Strengths - Carr's combination of length and athleticism are his main selling point. - Carr arguably has the best verticality of any prospect in this class. This not only helps him be a phenomenal dunker and lob threat, but also make plays around the rim on defense as well. - Pairing his defensive upside with his shooting prowess makes his projection as an eventual 3&D wing realistic at the NBA level. His length and speed make him phenomenal at closing out on the perimeter, and he has more than enough physical traits to become an above average defender. - Carr averaged 1.3 BPG and a 3.9 BLK%, both being elite metrics for a guard/wing. - Carr's vertical ability makes him a great rebounder for the position, averaging 5.8 RPG and a 17.6 DRB%. - Carr is an exceptional three point shooter, knocking down 37.4% of his shots on 6 3PA per game and 11 3PA per 100 possessions. While 69% of these makes were catch and shoot threes, he's still an unreal movement shooter as well. - Carr's range from three is pretty much limitless, and he shoots with an air of confidence that's rare to see at the college level. - His athleticism is at it's peak off-ball, where he's an unstoppable force cutting to the basket. Carr finished 68% of his looks at the rim, but also showed his versatility in the midrange, making 47.5% of his shots there. This is in large part to his explosive first step which easily allows him to get around defenders. - He's able to play off his own three point gravity really well, drawing defenders out to the perimeter and attacking closeouts. - Carr finished 88% of his dunks on high volume, with his body control and hang time being the main highlights here. - Carr is great in transition, taking long strides and aggressively making his way to the rim. - He's an elite cutter, recognizing lanes and gaps in the defense before anyone else does and converting his shots off of cuts at a 91% clip. - Carr's volume around the rim led to him drawing a solid 5 FTA per game and making 80% of them. WEAKNESSES: Weaknesses - Carr will be 21 on draft night. - His most glaring issue is his lack of overall strength, so adding more muscle to his frame will be a necessity in his development. Carr definitely doesn't shy away from contact though, especially on the defensive end. - While Carr is an exceptional athlete and has good length, these traits won't be as anomalous at the NBA level, so it'll be interesting to see how they hold up against better talent. - His handle can really falter against physicality. - While he's a very confident shooter, he can jack up some pretty ill-advised threes at times. - He can get the ball stripped or simply lose it on the way up to the rim sometimes. - Carr averaged 2.4 TOPG and a 1.1 AST/TO ratio, with both areas leaving a lot to be desired. He's not a bad playmaker or ball handler, but his ceiling might be limited given he likely won't be asked to play that role in the NBA. - He telegraphs passes or can leave his feet to pass when he doesn't need to, leading to turnovers.
