OFFENSIVE_EVALUATION: Okorie is a wizard with the basketball in his hands. Doesn't seem to be deterred by a ton of pressure on him with the ball in his hands. Has an excellent handle and has some crazy skilled gathers around the rim. These tools helped Okorie at Stanford creating for himself and some for his teammates. More nights out than not, the kid was putting up gaudy offensive numbers. 40 points against Ga. Tech, 36 points against UNC, and there are more of these types of games distributed throughout his game log. When he was going offensively, the three ball off the bounce is falling and he's getting to the cup and finishing or getting fouled. A 85 Offensive RAPM, 8.0 OBPM, a +8.7 OBPM+, with a 99th %tile UA RIM% (6.4) can buoy a believer into selecting a potential diamond in the rough here. The questions start for me with the efficiency. vs. Top100 teams the 2P% was 50.4% and rim% 54.5%, also a +2.4% rTS% (good for 57th %tile). Some of the forays to the rim ended sloppy - not consistently finishing at the rim around size, not getting quality looks up at the rim. Not a high volume mid-range shooter to counter the so-so finishing at the rim - 39.7% MID% vs T100. There are questions of Okorie as a playmaker, he sported a 23.9% AST% (45th %tile), a 1.9 RIM AST%. Watching Okorie, he does not stand out as a passer, but he is able to make the simple reads and knows where to go with the ball if doubled or running into help. DEFENSIVE_EVALUATION: On defense, I think over time with added strength he can become an almost neutral defender. Despite the height, Okorie has a +6 wingspan with massive hands that can be a factor in how good of defensive playmaking and contesting Okorie can do on and off the ball, also willing to compete on this end of the floor. With that being said, Okorie still doesn't have any ++ defensive traits to inspire a ton of belief in nothing more than a neutral/barely above average defender.
