Lightning in a bottle but the lightning is really good at basketball PHYSICALS: Official Measurements: 6'2.5 Barefoot 183.4 lbs. 6'3.5" Wingspan 8'2.5" Standing Reach STRENGTHS: Games Watched: Houston v. Texas Tech Houston v. Arkansas Houston v. Florida State Houston v. Syracuse Houston v. Tennessee Houston v. Auburn Houston v. TCU Strengths - Extremely fast and can maintain his speed while changing directions. - Exceptional at scoring downhill with his speed. His first step is so explosive and he covers so much ground, leading to lots of open looks at the rim. - Very composed handle, he isn't easily sped up and typically takes good shots. - Excellent vision as a passer, especially when he's coming downhill. He can play a legit point guard role in the NBA with a strong 2.8 assist to turnover ratio, and 32.6% assist percentage. These numbers are great, but imagine how good they could be in the NBA as opposed to Houston, where they were a more defensive minded team. - At his best in the midrange, and still has room to improve in that aspect. - Shot 46% on catch and shoot threes overall, shooting 56% on uncontested ones. (Note: he only shot 44 catch and shoot threes) - His FT% (84.5%) and 48% on long two point shots are encouraging signs for his three point shot developing at the NBA level. Not that it didn't look decent in college, but he shot threes at a pretty low rate. - Good at changing up speeds on his drives. - He's a monster when it comes to attacking closeouts, knowing exactly where to pass the ball. He generates a high amount of quality three point looks for his teammates, and routinely finds cutters. - He's a pest on defense, having hyper active hands to force steals. He also has some juice as a shot blocker. - Surprisingly good instincts when recognizing passing lanes and disrupting them. - His ability to play as a primary and secondary creator gives him a ton of versatility when it comes to landing spots. WEAKNESSES: Weaknesses - Can play too fast at times, rushing his shot or losing control of the ball when he gets to the rim. - Better accelerator than decelerator. - His left handed passes look way less accurate. - Really struggles to navigate around screens sometimes, like many college guards do. - I'm optimistic his three point shot will come along, but the fact it's not a finished product will limit his draft ceiling. - Very avoidant when it comes to contact. This was able to fly in college, but if he wants the best version of himself he'll need to add strength and learn to deal with at least a bit of physicality. - Way more of a guard that wins with pure speed than physicality, and he doesn't really draw fouls much either (3.5 FTA). - Just an average rim finisher going off of his 55% finishing at the rim. This is a bit strange considering how much separation he was able to create from defenders when driving, but it all stems from his lack of physicality. - Mid range shot mechanics need to be improved, he doesn't put a lot of spin on the ball. - Lacks floaters and runners as options in the paint. - Shot 41% in his last 15 games of the season, down from 54% during his first 15 games.
