AJ DYBANTSA

AJ DYBANTSA
With the build, athleticism, and skill that gets NBA scouts drooling, AJ Dybantsa has all the tools in the world to become a top 5 player in the world. However, it's going to take a LOT of work to get there. We'll see if he has what it takes to get there.
Imagine a version of young Giannis that watched a lot of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown as a kid.
A borderline all-star who can flat out score and is an intimidating on-ball defender. Flaws in his game limit him from being a true #1 option.
All the skill and athletic ability in the world, elite at his craft in the midrange. But what you see on the court isn't reflected in the advanced numbers and his teams consistently fail in the playoffs.
// EXECUTIVE_SUMMARY
AJ can be one of the greats if he can find a way to improve on the glaring flaws in his game.
Percentiles are positional, measured against NBA players' last season in college.
// OFFENSIVE_EVALUATION
AJ is a machine from the free throw line and thanks to athletic ability, he gets there whenever he wants. Great creator, consistently generates open looks for his teammates. Fantastic around the rim, weaponizing his strides to put defenders off balance and draw fouls. Will need to keep improving as a 3 point shooter.
// DEFENSIVE_EVALUATION
AJ has all the tools to be a great defender. Unfortunately, as of now he only uses them at the point of attack. AJ plays defense like someone who has been well over 30+ usage for his entire basketball career, i.e. he is not tasked with much defensive responsibility and can disappear too often on that end. Needs to massively improve off-ball.
// PROJECTION
AJ will continue to make leaps and bounds in his game. Analytics-minded people will criticize him a lot, but he'll continue to get better and be in the running for all-NBA teams.
