A board you can
look behind.
DraftBallr combines published rankings into an original consensus. It’s a way to organize scouting opinion while showing the limits of the evidence.
01 / Independent inputs
We use public big boards from independent publishers and one current list per publisher. Where overall boards are scarce, clearly labeled mock drafts supplement the pool. Their weights are shown beside the sources. We do not use Tankathon or count syndicated copies as separate opinions. College-only or position-only boards are excluded from an overall consensus.
02 / The blend
For each prospect, we add source weight ÷ (20 + source rank) across lists that include them, then divide by the sum of all source weights. Higher scores rank first. This rewards both high placement and agreement. Ties break by source count, observed average rank, then name. The score is an ordering tool, not a probability of success.
03 / Missing ranks and different depths
No rank captured from a source contributes zero to the score; it does not assign a last-place rank. A top 3 preview and a top 100 board have very different coverage. Players near the bottom may rely on just one source, and broad boards exert more influence over that part of the list. Coverage and source ranges are visible on every row so you can judge this directly.
04 / Identity and facts
We reconcile punctuation and accents, then use reviewed aliases for spelling differences. Source snapshots preserve the original spellings. Teams and positions normally come from the most recently published available source. Documented corrections backed by official sources take priority, and conflicting affiliations remain visible on profiles. These are source-reported facts, not independently verified current rosters. Inclusion is not confirmation of draft eligibility or entry.
05 / No invented statistics
The 2027 boards are preseason watchlists. A ranking alone cannot produce a scoring average, measurement, projection, scouting grade or player comparison. Those fields stay empty until a verified dataset can support them. Existing basketball analytics remain available separately in the historical prospect tools.
06 / Refresh and reproducibility
Each source records its URL, publication date when known, retrieval time and page fingerprint. The pipeline saves source snapshots, validates names and ranks, and builds a deterministic export. A failed refresh does not replace the last good board. Sources are refreshed in batches and published after validation; these are not live feeds. Check the dates beside each source to judge freshness.
DraftBallr publishes factual ranking evidence and its own derived order. Original scouting reports, biographies and images belong to their publishers. Read the linked sources for the full evaluation.
