Hi I'm Samantha, or Sammy or known as ShebaSZN on Twitter app. I'm not some genius on scouting or anything but I do watch a whole lot of games and film. I'm just obsessed with hoops.

CAMERON BOOZER

CAMERON BOOZER
An intriguing pf who just had one of the most dominant college seasons of all time as an 18 year old. But some people are still questioning how he'll translate in the league. Probably due to not being aesthetically pleasing and the massively overblown athletic limitations.
Slightly shorter KAT but being much more skilled at everything. Slightly worse as a shooter, but still a great one nonetheless but better at passing, big man stuff like screening, manipulating defenses, being much more in control in drives while using bully ball etc etc. And should be a better defender than KAT.
Higher iq Randle but maybe his shooting would just be average in the league, not great like in college.
At the very least he's an all star level player, being a better version of Aaron Gordon on the Nuggets.
// EXECUTIVE_SUMMARY
Boozer is like I said, one of the most complete and polished offensive players I've ever seen as a prospect. Not to mention that he's an 18 year old who's turning 19 in July. Offensively, Boozer does it all pretty well, you can kinda use him for any stuff you want him to do, pick & pops, pick & rolls with him as the screener or handler, cutting in open spaces, he can spot up for you with him being a great shooter, he's a great rebounder so he can give more possessions and easy putbacks, he can iso and bully 99% of nba players with how big & strong he is along with his great touch, his post game is elite, though he probably shouldn't rely on post ups a lot, he's still pretty effective at it. He can do all of that while also shooting at a historic efficiency level. His passing and elite iq compliments all these offensive playtypes he can do too, his elite skip passes and ability to read defenses help him generate a lot of open looks for his teammates whenever he posts up, his outlet passing is pretty elite, and he could make those like short roll passes at an elite level like lobs for athletic bigs. All the stuff I've said will all show up in the advanced analytics too, being almost always in the 90+ percentile of every single playtypes on offense, but I'm not much into analytics. The weaknesses or rather the parts of his game that he hasn't shown much this past season is his midrange game, but I do think that is just Duke's system not letting players take those shots. But Boozer has shown it before in high school that he can make those shots and anyways, you don't want a guy built like a tank like this not using his body and be physical and just drive it inside and instead just focus on taking a lot of midrange shots. As for the defense, he has been good this season. He is actually sneakily fast when people keeps calling him unathletic. He is a very smart defender and very physical and grabs a lot of defensive rebounds. Yes there's some concerns about him not being able to be a rim protector due to the vertical limitations but Boozer will not play center in the nba. It's more important to him to change directions more faster because that's his biggest weakness I've noticed in defense. He's not that shifty. Yes he's fast but he can't change directions quickly, and that's something you can learn. About his athleticism, Boozer is actually a very fast player, a plus athlete when it comes to that in pfs, he moves well and runs hard with or without the basketball. His verticality is the issue but like I said, he's not going to play as a big man in the league, so I don't think it would be that much of a problem. Overall, Cam Boozer is a hyperefficient, can literally do it all bruising pf on offense and should be a decent or a slight positive defender in the league. Him being a do it all guy makes it so easy to build around him, you can make him take a lesser role and he'll thrive at it, make him the center piece and he'll thrive at it. He can affect the game in other ways that other prospects can't do when they're not making shots, and that's what separates superstars to the all stars. And that's why I have Cameron Boozer as my #1 prospect in this year's draft.
